Rustenburg, 25 June 2025 — Orbit College Football Club has officially secured promotion to the Betway Premiership, South Africa’s top-tier football division, after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Cape Town City in the PSL Promotion/Relegation Playoffs.

The decisive match was played at Olympia Park in Rustenburg, where Letsei Koapeng’s 47th-minute strike sealed Orbit College’s place among the elite. The result relegates Cape Town City to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, ending their run in the Premiership.

Orbit College’s promotion caps off a meteoric rise through South African football. The club earned promotion from the SAFA Second Division in 2023, advanced through the Motsepe Foundation Championship, and now, in just two seasons, enters the Premiership for the first time in their history.

This triumph also marks a significant milestone for the North West province, as Orbit becomes the first club from the region to feature in the top flight since Platinum Stars were relegated in 2018.

The “Mswenko Boys” have become a symbol of ambition and resilience in South African football, and their success story is expected to inspire many smaller clubs across the country.

Orbit College will now begin preparations for their debut Premiership campaign, where they will test themselves against giants of South African football such as Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, and Kaizer Chiefs.

Final Score:
Orbit College 1–0 Cape Town City
Goal Scorer: Letsei Koapeng (47’)
