🔄 Tshegofatso Mabasa’s Transfer Situation

One of the more notable transfer movements involving Pirates was that of Tshegofatso Mabasa.

The striker returned to Orlando Pirates after spending time on loan at Stellenbosch FC. However, his return was short-lived, with Mabasa subsequently moving to Maghreb Fes in Morocco before the close of the transfer window.

🔄 Squad Reshaping Under Ouaddou

The scale of the movement highlights the extent of the squad adjustments made by Orlando Pirates during the window.

The Buccaneers brought in players across several positions, including defenders, midfielders and attacking players, while also promoting continuity through the return of players from loan spells.

At the same time, the club allowed a significant number of players to leave, including Relebohile Mofokeng, who completed a move to Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, as well as Deon van Rooyen, who joined Mamelodi Sundowns.

With the transfer window now closed, Ouaddou will have to integrate the new arrivals and establish his preferred combinations as Pirates continue their campaign.

🏴‍☠️ Focus Turns to the 2026/27 Campaign

With no further domestic transfer-window activity expected until the next registration period, the attention now shifts to the pitch.

Pirates will be competing in the 2026/27 Betway Premiership while also managing their continental commitments.

The success of the club’s transfer strategy will ultimately be measured by performances and results throughout the campaign.

For now, the Buccaneers have completed a busy period of squad restructuring and will look to turn their new-look squad into a competitive force on both the domestic and continental fronts.
