OFFICIAL: Orlando Pirates Secure the Signing of Sipho Mbule

Transfer News

Orlando Pirates Football Club have officially confirmed the signing of highly-rated midfielder Sipho Mbule ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

Mbule joins the Buccaneers as a free agent following his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns. The 27-year-old’s contract with the reigning league champions was not renewed, paving the way for his move to the Soweto giants.

A product of the Harmony Sports Academy, Sipho Mbule began his professional career at SuperSport United, where he quickly made a name for himself with his creativity, passing range, and ability to control the tempo of the game. His performances earned him a high-profile switch to Mamelodi Sundowns in 2022.

While his stint at Sundowns was marked by limited game time, Mbule remains one of the most technically gifted midfielders in South African football.

His arrival at Orlando Pirates brings added depth and flair to the club’s midfield options, and fans will be eager to see him rediscover the form that once made him one of the most sought-after talents in the PSL.
