Lionel Messi delivered yet another moment of magic on Thursday night, scoring a sensational free-kick to help Inter Miami claim a 2-1 comeback victory over Portuguese giants FC Porto in their FIFA Club World Cup Group A clash.

The match, played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, saw Inter Miami fall behind early after Porto converted a penalty in the 8th minute. However, Miami responded strongly in the second half, with Telasco Segovia netting the equalizer in the 47th minute.

Just seven minutes later, Messi stepped up for a free-kick from just outside the box and curled the ball into the top corner—leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. The goal not only put Inter Miami ahead but also marked Messi’s first goal of the tournament and his 50th goal for the club.

The result boosts Inter Miami’s position in Group A, keeping them level on points with Palmeiras as both teams push for a place in the knockout stage.

Inter Miami will now look ahead to their final group stage fixture, aiming to maintain momentum and secure a historic run in the expanded 2025 Club World Cup.
