Durban City FC Confirms Departure of Head Coach Simo Dladla

Durban City Football Club has officially announced the departure of head coach Simo Dladla, following the conclusion of contract negotiations ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

In a statement released by the club, it was confirmed that both parties were unable to reach an agreement on a new deal. As a result, Dladla will not be continuing in his role as head coach.

“Following a series of discussions, the Club and Head Coach Simo Dladla have been unable to reach an agreement on a new contract of employment for the Betway Premiership Season,” read the official statement.

Durban City expressed its gratitude to Dladla for his professionalism and contributions during his tenure, which included leading the team to success in the Motsepe Foundation Championship and securing promotion to the top flight.

“His efforts played a key role in the team’s progress and recent successes,” the club added.

Durban City will now begin the search for a new head coach to take charge ahead of their debut campaign in the Betway Premiership. Further updates are expected to be communicated in the coming days.

Dladla, who joined the club in 2023, leaves with his head held high after guiding the team through a pivotal chapter in its history.
