Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – 25 June 2025
Young Africans SC have officially been crowned 2024/25 NBC Premier League champions after defeating rivals Simba SC 2-0 in a highly anticipated final-day encounter at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
The result secured Yanga’s place at the top of the table with 82 points, four points clear of Simba, who ended the season with 78. The title race came down to this decisive clash, with Yanga needing at least a draw to lift the trophy, while Simba had to win to overtake them.
Dominant Performance in Title Decider

Four Titles in a Row
This latest success marks Young Africans’ fourth consecutive league title, having also claimed the championship in 2021/22, 2022/23, and 2023/24. The club’s continued dominance has cemented its status as the most successful side in Tanzanian football.
Yanga also produced several standout results this season, including a 5-0 win over Dodoma Jiji, 6-1 against KenGold, and other commanding victories that kept them at the top of the table for most of the campaign.
Looking Ahead
With the NBC Premier League title secured, Young Africans will now shift their focus to the CAF Champions League, where they will represent Tanzania on the continental stage in the 2025/26 season.
