Katlego Otladisa Bids Farewell to Orlando Pirates

Transfer News

Orlando Pirates have officially parted ways with winger Katlego Otladisa, bringing an end to his short spell with the Soweto giants.

The Buccaneers confirmed the player’s departure on Friday.

Otladisa, who joined Pirates from Marumo Gallants in 2023, found game time hard to come by at Mayfair. Despite flashes of promise, the 28-year-old was unable to cement a regular starting spot under successive coaches.

Earlier this year, he was loaned to Sekhukhune United where he rediscovered some form, including a memorable long-range strike in the Nedbank Cup. His performances at Babina Noko reminded many of the attacking spark that made him one of the standout players at Gallants.

While his exit from Pirates may not come as a surprise, Otladisa leaves with experience gained at one of the biggest clubs on the continent. His next move will be closely watched, with speculation already linking him to a permanent stay at Sekhukhune or a fresh start elsewhere in the Premiership.

For the Buccaneers, Otladisa’s departure opens up room in their attacking department as they continue to fine-tune their squad for the season ahead.

What remains clear is that Otladisa’s journey is far from over. A player with pace, flair, and the ability to change a game, he will be hoping to rebuild his career and showcase his talent on a stage that values consistency and creativity.
