Sekhukhune United head coach Eric Tinkler has been honoured with the Betway Premiership Coach of the Month award for August 2025, following an exceptional run of results that placed his side among the early pacesetters in the league.
Tinkler guided Babina Noko through a memorable month in which they showcased consistency, discipline, and attacking quality. Under his leadership, Sekhukhune recorded three consecutive league victories in August, defeating Orlando Pirates, TS Galaxy, and Orbit College without conceding a single goal. The team’s defensive stability, combined with clinical finishing in front of goal, proved to be the difference as they collected maximum points.
The highlight of the month was a commanding 3–0 away victory against Orbit College, where Sekhukhune displayed both attacking flair and resilience. This victory cemented their position at the top end of the table and underlined Tinkler’s tactical approach, which has struck a fine balance between structure and creativity.
While the team’s MTN 8 campaign ended at the quarterfinal stage against Stellenbosch FC, their league form was enough to establish them as one of the most consistent sides during the opening weeks of the season. Tinkler’s ability to rotate his squad and keep players motivated was a key factor behind their unbeaten league run in August.
The award is a fitting recognition of the progress Sekhukhune United have made since Tinkler’s arrival. It also highlights the growing ambition of the club, who are eager to build on last season’s performances and cement their status as a competitive force in the Premiership.
