Bafana Bafana have safely arrived in Cairo, Egypt, as the South African national team begins preparations for their upcoming fixtures in the North African country.

The arrival was confirmed by the official Bafana Bafana social media platforms, with the squad now settling in Cairo ahead of an important period on the international calendar.

South Africa travelled to Egypt after making a winning start to their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign, beating Guinea 2-1 in their opening Group D match.

The victory over Guinea gave Pitso Mosimane’s team valuable momentum heading into their next assignment.

Bafana Bafana are scheduled to face Eritrea on 30 September 2026 in Cairo in their next AFCON 2027 qualifying fixture.
