The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) is ready to begin a new chapter following its 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
After reaching the Round of 16 on home soil before suffering a 4-1 defeat to Belgium, Mauricio Pochettino’s side now turns its attention toward the next international cycle.
The USMNT will return to action with four international friendlies between September 26 and October 6, facing Peru, Chile, Mexico and Canada in a busy 11-day period.
These matches will give Pochettino an opportunity to assess new faces, test different combinations and begin building the squad for the road toward the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

The new cycle begins in Orlando against Peru.
The South Americans missed out on the 2026 World Cup and will provide the Americans with their first opportunity to test themselves after the tournament.
The USMNT has faced Peru seven times, winning three, drawing two and losing two. Their most recent meeting ended in a 1-1 draw in October 2018.

Three days later, the USMNT heads to St. Louis to take on Chile.
The match should provide another useful test for Pochettino as he continues assessing his squad and gives opportunities to both established players and emerging talent.
The game will also have an interesting storyline for St. Louis supporters, with USMNT forward Damion Downs returning to his club home at Energizer Park after being added to the squad following Ricardo Pepi’s injury.
🇺🇸 USA vs Mexico 🇲🇽

🏟️ State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona
⏰ 7:00 PM MT / 10:00 PM ET
The rivalry returns.
The USMNT will face Mexico in Glendale in what will be the 80th meeting between the two North American rivals.
Unlike the opening two matches against Peru and Chile, this fixture carries the familiar intensity that comes whenever the United States and Mexico meet.
With both nations preparing for the next four-year cycle, the clash should provide Pochettino with another demanding test.
🇺🇸 USA vs Canada 🇨🇦
📅 October 6, 2026
🏟️ Allianz Field, St. Paul, Minnesota
⏰ 7:00 PM CT / 8:00 PM ET
The four-match window concludes against Canada in Minnesota.
The fixture will be another important Concacaf battle as the USMNT continues shaping its squad for the years ahead.
Canada will arrive having also enjoyed a memorable 2026 World Cup campaign, making this an intriguing matchup between two of North America’s leading football nations. The match will be played at Allianz Field in St. Paul on October 6.
🔎 A New Chapter for the USMNT
This international window is about more than simply results.
Pochettino has selected a 28-player squad for the four matches, with 13 members of the World Cup squad included and a dozen players receiving their first senior-team call-up.
That mixture of experience and youth could make the upcoming fixtures particularly interesting for USMNT supporters.
The September and October matches give the coaching staff valuable time to experiment, evaluate emerging players and establish the foundations of the next World Cup cycle.
For the Stars and Stripes, the journey toward 2030 has officially begun.
