Mamelodi Sundowns have officially welcomed back one of their own, as Katlego “Tsiki” Ntsabeleng makes his return to Chloorkop after spending the past four seasons in the United States with Major League Soccer side FC Dallas.
The 27-year-old midfielder, born in Daveyton, Johannesburg, began his football journey at the Stars of Africa Academy before moving into the Sundowns youth ranks. His development later took him across the Atlantic, where he built an impressive career in the American college system with Coastal Carolina and Oregon State, before being drafted into MLS in 2022.
Ntsabeleng quickly adapted to life abroad, becoming a key squad player for FC Dallas and earning over 70 appearances in all competitions. Known for his high work rate, technical ability, and versatility in midfield, he was rewarded with a long-term deal in Dallas and even secured a U.S. green card to free up an international roster slot.
Now, he returns to South Africa on loan, with Sundowns securing an option to make the move permanent. For the Brazilians, this is more than just a signing — it is the homecoming of a player who understands the DNA of the club.
The timing of his arrival adds further depth to Miguel Cardoso’s midfield, as Sundowns continue to balance domestic dominance with continental ambitions in the CAF Champions League. Ntsabeleng’s experience in a competitive league like MLS, coupled with his creative instincts, is expected to give the squad another dynamic option in the middle of the park.
His journey from Daveyton, to the Sundowns Academy, to North America, and now back to Chloorkop, is a full-circle moment that highlights both his perseverance and the club’s commitment to nurturing talent that can thrive on the global stage.
With the Yellow Nation already buzzing at his return, the stage is set for Ntsabeleng to showcase the growth he has gained abroad and make a significant impact in Sundowns’ quest for further glory.
