Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed that head coach Nasreddine Nabi is currently not with the team, as internal discussions regarding his future remain ongoing.

In a media statement released by the Soweto giants, the Club emphasised that the situation is being handled through “appropriate processes” and assured supporters that stability and continuity remain the priority.

“Kaizer Chiefs confirms that Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi is currently not with the team as discussions between the Club and the Coach remain ongoing. The matter is internal in nature and is being addressed through the appropriate processes,” the statement read.

The update comes amid widespread speculation about Nabi’s potential exit from Naturena. Reports earlier this week suggested that his tenure was under scrutiny due to both performance concerns and administrative challenges, including questions around his coaching licence status for CAF competitions.

Despite recently ending Amakhosi’s long trophy drought by lifting the Nedbank Cup, Nabi has faced mounting pressure following the team’s underwhelming league campaign, where Chiefs finished outside the top eight. His absence from preparations for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup clash against Angolan side Kabuscorp has further fuelled speculation about his imminent departure.

While the Club has not disclosed specific details, the statement made it clear that no further information will be shared until the process is complete.

Chiefs also took the opportunity to thank their loyal supporters for their patience during this uncertain period:

“We appreciate the continued support and understanding of our supporters and the broader football community. Any updates will be communicated through official Club channels when appropriate.”

For now, assistant coaches and technical staff are expected to oversee training and match preparations as the Club works toward resolving Nabi’s situation.

Supporters will be watching closely to see whether Kaizer Chiefs part ways with the Tunisian tactician, or if an agreement can be reached that keeps him in charge at Naturena.
