Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed a major change to the venue and date of their upcoming Betway Premiership home fixture against Siwelele FC, with the highly anticipated encounter now set to take place in Soweto.
The match, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, 5 September 2026, at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, has been moved to Dobsonville Stadium. The fixture has also been rescheduled and will now be played on Sunday, 6 September 2026, with kick-off at 17:30.
Amakhosi Return Home to Soweto
The venue adjustment brings the fixture closer to Kaizer Chiefs’ traditional home base, allowing supporters in Gauteng the opportunity to rally behind the team in a familiar environment.
The decision follows growing speculation surrounding the club’s hosting plans, with several reports and social media discussions suggesting that the encounter could be staged at Durban’s iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium.
However, after careful consideration, club officials and relevant stakeholders decided against immediately returning the newly renovated 2010 FIFA World Cup venue to regular matchday use. Kaizer Chiefs later clarified the situation through an official announcement, confirming that Dobsonville Stadium would host the clash.
